Webflow Conf 2026: 8 Announcements That Quietly Change Who Builds Your Website

Webflow just gave AI agents a seat at the table — and handed marketers tools that used to need a developer. Here's what was announced, what's live, and what it means for you.

Every year Webflow Conf promises "the future of the web." This year, for once, it actually feels like the future arrived a bit early.

Held on September 2–3, 2026, the conference had one clear theme: your website isn't just something you edit anymore. AI agents edit it too — and Webflow wants to be the place where humans and agents work side by side without breaking anything.

If you run a business site, a client agency or a pile of landing pages for paid traffic, at least three of these announcements are worth your attention.

1. Campaigns: landing pages from a brief

This is the one performance marketers will care about. Campaigns generates landing pages, page variants and ad creative from a campaign brief. It's in beta, with Webflow saying it becomes available to buy shortly after the event.

Why it matters: the slowest part of testing a new offer is rarely the ad — it's waiting for a page. If Campaigns delivers, the "brief → live variant" loop shrinks from days to an afternoon.

2. Assets: one creative, every channel

Assets is an agent-driven system for producing on-brand variations of creative across channels. Webflow said it enters beta in October. Think: one hero image becomes your story ad, display banner and email header — without starting from scratch each time.

3. Releases: branch your whole site

Developers have had Git branches forever. Marketers haven't. Releases lets teams branch an entire site, stage a complex update, and push it live when it's ready. It's slated as a beta later this year.

If you've ever "just updated the pricing page" and broken the nav on mobile, you already know why this is a big deal.

4. MCP 2.1: agents get deeper access

Webflow's MCP server (the protocol AI assistants like Claude use to work inside other apps) moves to version 2.1, adding GSAP animation support, better CMS querying and Webflow Cloud deployment support. New to MCP? Our plain-English MCP explainer covers it in five minutes.

5–6. Agent Instructions and Agent Presence

Two smaller features that make AI collaboration less chaotic:

  • Agent Instructions generation creates a context file from your site's data, so an AI agent understands your brand and structure before it touches anything. Webflow said this was rolling out at the event.
  • Agent Presence shows, in real time, when an agent is working on the canvas — like seeing a teammate's cursor in a shared doc.

7. AEO content agents (Enterprise)

For Enterprise customers, Webflow announced AEO content agents that spot topics competitors get cited for in AI answers and draft original CMS content to close the gap. It's Enterprise-only for now, but it shows where SEO is heading: being cited by AI assistants, not just ranked. (More on that in our AI search guide.)

8. Source by Webflow

Source unifies your codebase and marketing stack into one workspace for teams and agents. It's a limited research preview — interesting, but not something most small businesses will touch this year.

So… should you switch to Webflow now?

Honest answer: not just because of a keynote. Most of these features are beta or preview. But if you're already choosing between builders, Webflow's direction is clear — it's betting on teams who want design control and AI speed.

  • Pick Webflow if you care about custom design, run lots of landing pages, or manage sites for clients.
  • Look elsewhere if you want the simplest possible setup — an AI builder like Wix or Hostinger's will get you live faster. See our AI website builders roundup.
